Cottage Cheese Dessert Buns
Yields: 24 buns
What you need
- 1 ½ cups Smith Brothers Low Fat Cottage Cheese
- 4 Extra Large Eggs
- ½ tbsp. vanilla extract
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ tbsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- ½ tbsp. white vinegar
- 4 cups flour
- ¼ cup Smith Brothers Low Fat Milk
- ¼ cup powdered sugar, to sprinkle on top
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350F.
With either a blender or food processor, combine the cottage cheese, eggs, vanilla extract, and ½ cup sugar.
In a small bowl, combine the baking soda with vinegar and add it to the mixture. Also, dd baking powder and flour to the mixture.
Divide the dough into 24 equal pieces and form round shapes out of each piece, placing them apart on a baking sheet.
Bake the buns for 12 minutes and then, using a pastry brush, apply some milk and sprinkle a dusting of sugar on top.
Continue baking them for another 5-10 minutes or until they are golden brown.
Let the buns cool to room temperature and they are ready to be served. To keep them fresh, have them sealed in an airtight container.
