You’ll first recognize Bosc pears by their warm cinnamon brown color and natural russeting over the surface of the skin. They have a long, curved stem and an elongated neck that widens to a fully rounded base. Unlike other varieties, Bosc pears are firmer and more flavorful earlier in the ripening process. With their spicy-sweet flesh and crunchy texture, they are a great fresh-eating pear, but also ideal for baking, broiling, or poaching!
